Days Out in East Yorkshire - Coast

Places to visit in Yorkshire. A few of my favourite places to visit around East Yorkshire Coastline, including Whitby, Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay, Filey and Staithes.

In September 2006 I visited the East of Yorkshire and spent a week exploring up and down the coast. More of the photos are on the English Coastal Wallpapers page.

These 'places to visit' pages will grow over the coming years as I travel around taking photos, i'll add details of places i've visited. I'm generally only adding places that i've visited and photographed.

Whitby

A large fishing village on the North Yorkshire Coast, set in the steep sided bay where the River Esk flows into the sea.

Robin Hoods Bay

Robin Hood's Bay is the name of the village and the name of the beautiful cliff lined bay. This has got to be one of the most picturesque places in England.

Staithes Village

Staithes is a small fishing village with large bay harbour on the North Yorkshire Coast. The word 'Staithes' literally means "landing place".

Runswick Bay

A lovely little village & bay on the North Yorkshire Coast about 8 miles north west of Whitby.

Filey

Filey is a quiet seaside town on the East Yorkshire coast about 5 miles south of Scarborough.
