The University of Nottingham Park and Lake, located to the West of the City center. A nice quite spot in a busy city, open to the public all year round.
Lots of Rhododendrons in the late Spring. Well kept gardens with multi colored tree lined flat walks and beautiful Iris's in the flower beds. There's also a lake and a small woodland area that has the tamest ducks and squirrels you're ever likely to find, they'll all eat from your hand if you take some nuts along. Plenty of water birds with easy views of nests on the small island in the lake.
It's also easy to take photos of the very tame squirrels and ducks (
animal wallpapers page), often they actually get too close!
Even though the park has a lake, it's no so good for landscape or wide natural photographs, although you can get some nice views of the university clock tower behind the lake and the weeping willow trees on the waters edge.
As you'll see from this
Google Map, University Park is very near Wollaton Park - the largest park within the city limits.
