Located in Sneinton on the edge of Nottingham City center, it's one of the highest points on the hills around the city's edge.
Provides good 'urban' views over the Trent valley.
George Greens' Mill is a fully working, flour producing windmill.
It was owned and operated in the 19th century by the mathematical physicist George Green.
Short tours around the inner workings of the windmill are available. There's also a Science Centre with lots of activities for children.
After his death the mill was derelict for 100 years, being restored to fully working order in 1979 with money raised by Nottingham University.
The organic flour produced has won many awards and can be purchased in the shop (part of the science center) . The small museum and science center will take about an hour to tour around.
Admission free.
