Colwick Country Park Lakes - Places to Visit in Nottinghamshire
 To the South of Nottingham city center, close to the bank of the River Trent. Three very large gravel pits have been transformed into 3 separate lakes and a marina that leads onto the River Trent. The lakes are a good location for photographs of water birds and wild flowers & blossom. There are fairly level gravel paths to all parts of the park. |
It's also possible to get the odd sunset picture across the lakes and/or the river. Lots of fairly tame Geese and ducks. Across the river from the main lake is Holme Pierrepont National Water sports center. The Colwick Lakes complex has three entrances all with plenty of free parking. Colwick Park located between Nottingham Racecourse and the River Trent - so the best way to find it is to follow the 'brown' tourist info signs for the Racecourse. |
