North Derbyshire nr Worksop (A57). Creswell Crags (often misspelled as Cresswell Craggs) is a limestone gorge with lots of caves and smaller
fissures. Stone tools and remains of animals found in the caves by archaeologists provide evidence for a fascinating story of life during
the last Ice Age between 50,000 and 10,000 years ago.
The base of the gorge contains a small lake with a well maintained path circling the water, with loads of wild flowers to look at & photograph.
There's also a visitor center in nearby woodland.
